ThreatPress Security Suite

ThreatPress SiteScan makes its debut online

SiteScan is a universal malware, blacklisting status, phishing, injected spam scanner. Scanner combines data from several systems to make an extensive scan and to provide the most accurate results. To be more precise it uses data from Google Safe Browsing, PhishTank, Spamhaus-ZEN and Malware Domain List. Moreover, SiteScan scanner runs several tests to check out the health and status of the server that is used to host the website you try to scan. It’s a free security scanner, but there are some limitations like scan attempts per IP for one day.

What’s under the hood of the ThreatPress SiteScan scanner

As mentioned before, SiteScan uses data from four data sources. Google Safe Browsing, PhishTank, Spamhaus-ZEN and Malware Domain List. We selected these data sources as the most comprehensive and accurate. Each one provides individual data for malware, blacklisting, phishing, and other statuses.

  • Google Safe Browsing – database of sites involved in a various malicious activity like social engineering, phishing, malware spreading and more.
  • PhishTank – database of websites identified as used for phishing.
  • Malware Domain List – database of potentially dangerous domains that spreads malware.
  • Spamhaus-ZEN – provides data from Spamhaus SBL, SBLCSS, XBL and PBL blocklists.

SiteScan also makes a few tests to check the health and configuration of the web server. These all tests give you a detailed yet easy to understand the report and makes a SiteScan quite handy tool. Instead of checking your website against all these databases separately, you can check it in one place.

If your website test gives you negative report, you can show this report to your site admin. Otherwise, if you administer your site by your own and you’re not familiar with data provided by the SiteScan report, you can contact us, and we will help you to solve the problems identified by the scanner.

We have a SiteScan development plan for short and long terms so you can expect additional features. We would be glad to hear your opinion or even suggestions related to the scanner. And for now, we want to thank you for using our services.
